Working at the intersection of art and science, we designed embodied encounters that invite participants to experience their environment through touch, sound, scent, and memory. Guided by methods inspired by scientific research, residents and researchers of Texel were asked to connect with chosen places, awakening their senses to recall stories embedded in the land and sea. These stories became material: woven together through archival fragments, textures, and moving images that trace the process of remembering and relating.
The resulting installation invites viewers to move through these layered narratives and step into the viewpoint of another. In doing so, it offers a form of understanding that resonates on both emotional and intellectual levels—a shared fabric of human and ecological memory.
