Plenilunio2022
Plenilunio is a project commissioned by the fashion show Diseño, Escena y Otras Materialidades (DEOM), presented during the arts and science festival El Aleph, organised by the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. The main theme of this event focused on musical genres, and this garment proposes an alternative to the synthetic and natural leather commonly used in the alternative music scene.
By exploring local materials and conducting an extensive experimental process, this project integrates musical performances with local material production to create a black bioleather that opens new opportunities for the Mexican fashion industry.The resulting bioleather is a resistant, waterproof material with an elegant texture similar to synthetic leather. It was used in the design of a shoulder pad, accessories, and detailing, which—combined with a recycled fabric dress—formed the look presented in the show.
